Happy Monday, all! (Or Unhappy Monday depending on how you view Mondays lol.) As I’ve mentioned in my previous posts, I’m a busy, full-time working, mom of two who rarely has time to complete a thought, much less complete a meal. Not only that, I’ve always had no faith in my cooking. I thought I was a bland, boring chef and I didn’t want to torture my loved ones with my monotonous cuisine. Enter: Tasty. I kept seeing these quick 30 second videos with recipes that seemed way too easy to be true. My curiosity compelled me to download the app and see what it was all about. After a few weeks of drooling over the videos, I decided I’d give it a try. It looks soooo easy, what can go wrong?! Before long, I became a self-proclaimed cooking expert, and my picky, impossible to please family was thrilled with my meals lol. I was a reformed microwave dinner connoisseur and my boys couldn’t have been happier. I no longer cut corners and I even…*drum roll please* BAKE! And I’m not referring to the prepared cookie dough in the refrigerated section at the grocery store.
The app is so user-friendly and even caters to all kinds of diets. I was blown away with how many healthy options there were, even for those who are on the Keto diet. There are even healthy desserts which is a MUST for me. I cannot successfully diet without finding a way to sneak in some sweets! The cool thing is, people review the recipes, and provide their comments and suggestions of things they tried to improve the recipe which can be very helpful! Also, they pull together recipes to give you a full 3-4 course dinner for date nights, they do meal prep recipes, one pan recipes…the list goes on. Overall, I’d say this app is a must-try. Using it over time has even improved my freestyle cooking skills. I understand which spices to pair with which foods, etc. thanks to all the recipes I’ve tried with the app.
I have to say, I’ve also tried Tastemade, and while I did find an amazing shrimpcake recipe on there, I’m not ass impressed by the app. Their videos are usually long and narrated. I much prefer the quick 30 second videos I can continue to refer back to while I cook. See below for some of my recipe recommendations and don’t forget to share, like, subscribe, and comment if you give it a try! 🙂
